  25. Has nothing to do with Kermit.

  27. Probably the host you are connecting to, or your terminal server,
  28. is inserting the NUL characters because it thinks you have an
  29. ASR-33 model Teletype or something, and is sending NULs as
  30. carriage-return padding to give the print head time to return
  31. to the left margin.

  33. Tell the host you have a modern terminal.
